During the sheet metal processing process, the gas purity and parameter settings of the laser cutting machine will affect the processing quality. Only when the equipment, gas, and parameters are adjusted to the best state, the cut workpiece will be burr-free. So how are the burrs generated?

In addition, there are quality issues of the equipment itself and parameter settings. Therefore, when customers purchase laser cutting machines, they should have experienced operators to debug the equipment. Therefore, they should try to adjust the cutting parameters to the best. The air pressure, flow, focal length, and cutting speed must be adjusted many times. It is impossible to cut high-quality workpieces by relying solely on the parameters provided by the machine.

1. The output power of the laser cutting machine is insufficient. When cutting thick plates, a laser cutting machine with higher power is required to ensure the integrity of the cutting and the product can be used directly.

2. The upper and lower positions of the beam focus deviate. The focus is too close or too far, which will affect the operation of the laser cutting machine.

3. The gas purity of the cutting machine is not enough. In order to achieve high-quality cutting work, the gas is preferably 5-9 high-purity nitrogen or oxygen; or the gas pressure is not enough. If the gas pressure is not enough, the slag cannot be blown off, and burrs will form after cooling.

Solution: Increase the gas purity or replace the gas and adjust the gas pressure. For example, it is recommended to use nitrogen for laser cutting of stainless steel because nitrogen is a flame-retardant gas. During laser processing, nitrogen can not only prevent laser cutting explosion, but also prevent the heated end face from being instantly oxidized, and the cut end face is smoother and brighter. The auxiliary gas should be adjusted to a pressure of 12-15kg. Nitrogen under this pressure will not completely stop burning, and it can also quickly blow away waste and remove burrs.

4. The speed of the laser cutting machine. When the laser cutting machine is working, too fast or too slow will affect the cutting effect. If the cutting speed is too fast, the workpiece will not be cut in time, and oblique stripes will be formed on the cutting surface, and the lower part will be slag. If the cutting machine speed is too slow, it will be overburned, the overall cutting surface will become rough, the cutting seam will become wider, and the upper part will be slag.

5. The additional point offset of the laser beam of the cutting machine.

6. Instability caused by the long operation time of the laser cutting machine.
